It's name (Agata) comes from the Achates river, in the south of Sicily. The colour richness is a properties of this stone, ranging from yellow to dark or red. Opaque and translucent, light creates interesting contrasts when passing through.

The agate has beneficial effects on the environment as it purifies and recharges energy. It contributes to peace and generates physical and emotional equilibrium. Its therapeutic properties are many: it protects the respiratory tract and the throat, carries benefits on our skin: it also stimulates the sense of hearing.
